Ask Fatal: Simple Questions With Not So Simple Answers

Time for another round of questions.... These are mostly questions that I've gotten asked in my chat box that I just can't answer in such a limited amount of space... So here are a few I figure I'd tackle today since the servers were down.

Trickster Day One (Part B) - The Journey to Twenty

Alright, I'm finally set up and ready to venture out scratching and clawing my way up level by level.  This feels an awful lot like when I first started Fiesta back in 2007.  Besides the greater number of people running around, the class is unfamiliar to me.

I'm too excited to get started to go research skills and planning out my empowerments at this point.  So I'll kind of play-it-by-ear for now.  Looking at the preset stat distribution, the Trickster class is high in STR and DEX.  Looking at its base DEF, EVA, etc, it's a bit hard to tell since I don't remember what a similar leveled Fighter would have.

Trickster Day One: GO!

(image taken from OutSpark Website, no I can't draw like this)
Wow, what a surprise!  It's March 31st and the Trickster has arrived!  Many of us anticipated, at earliest, an April 1st launch, but were skeptical that it would be reached.  And to sweeten the deal, we even got a fifth character slot on each account!

Maintenance last night was long, four hours to be precise, so I just slept.  Fiesta wouldn't be back up and running until after midnight my time, so I figured I'd just wake up a bit earlier and try it out before getting ready for work.

Thy Name Is Trickster - Forum MVP Event

While we're all eagerly anticipating the release of Fiesta's fifth class, the Trickster, the nice folks at OutSpark continue to feed our hunger with little snippets of information and events.  A little bit of insight was given into the Trickster class, but for the purposes of this event, we were just given the ball and told to run with it.  Our writing could be fictional, from experience, or even our hopes for the future.  We are allowed two entries with each limited to only 300 words, so a huge narrative wouldn't work.  I've finished my first one, and with a deadline of April 1, I don't know if I'll be able to write another.  Wish me luck!

Well anyway, I hope you enjoy my take on the emergence of the Trickster...

Darkness. My journey begins here, unconscious, the sad result of another defeat. But in this pit, there is hope for someone like me.  The outcast.

A man much wiser than I once said, “Finding your niche in life is key to one's happiness.” As I bounce from discipline to discipline, I've never experienced anything that remotely felt like "this is me". I lack the brawn and bravado of the typical Fighter, I lack the mastery of a Mage's powerful spells, I lack the elusiveness of the Archer, and I lack the faith and humility of the Cleric.  So where is my place in this world?

The darkness brings about calm. A single point of light brings about focus. Thoughts of vengeance bring me a clarity besieged by mayhem. It is clear now that what used to be is not what I will be, my path to glory must take a detour. Rejecting the roles our forefathers laid before us, I will forge my own path.

Fighter. Cleric. Archer. Mage. I am none of these, yet, I will become all of these at once.  I will take what I have learned and apply them to a new discipline. But will it be enough? Simply, no.

For generations now, myths have been passed down that spoke of a dark magic long forgotten, abandoned, and outlawed.  But where does simple myth end and truth begin?  Is the power to spirit away the souls of defeated enemies real?  And as the legend states, if the cost is one’s own sanity, is the price worth the madness?  Simply, yes.

I promise to be like nothing you have ever seen before. You have been warned. My journey begins today, the Trickster is born.

Edit:  Hey I was chosen as one of the winners!

Controlled Mayhem Part II: Defining Your Playstyle (Mage)

Much of what you do and what you hope to accomplish is based upon your own playstyle.  This playstyle is defined as a combination of your personality, your goals, and oftentimes, your access to both in-game gold and SparkCash.

You could have the never-say-die Heart of a Champion, but if you don't have the financial back up, you'll fall short of achieving your goals.  Simply put, Mages need a steady flow of money to be extremely successful.
As you already know, Mages by nature are extremely fragile, a stiff wind can probably wipe out 25% of your HP.  So in order to make up for those deficiencies, a Mage must earn enough money to be able to both solo and party comfortably.

Even at 106, You Can Still Learn Some Things....

So I'm back to my SharpShooter now, the Warlock has pretty much been shelved.  I didn't get to the 50-60% I had hoped for, although she currently sits at about 25%, I'm still satisfied.  With the Ascendence of Heroes Event finally winding down, it ends on March 31, I figured I may as well try to solidify my spot within the top 5 for Bijou's Archers.

Secret Laboratory - Set Effects and Complete Set Images

Since my Leviathan's Nest Armor posting went over so well and there were multiple requests for a Secret Laboratory version, here it is!  It's taken some time to put together and as you can see, it's far from complete.  I will continue to update as I get more response from the community.

Secret Laboratory is a much more difficult run than Leviathan's Nest is, and even though you can get multiple drops in a single run, you are oftentimes stuck with nothing.  Throw in the fact that a complete set requires a weapon, and it makes it even more difficult.

I would advise you to click the images and open them up either in a new tab or a new window as the text is rather small.
